About Us
We are a sanctuary for men diagnosed with or recovering from prostate cancer. We understand the challenges and complexities that come with this journey, and our aim is to provide a safe and supportive environment where individuals can share their experiences, find solace, and gain valuable insights.
At our support group, we believe in the power of open dialogue and connection. We recognise that prostate cancer can impact not only the individuals directly affected but also their loved ones, particularly their wives. Therefore, we extend our warm invitation to wives and partners to actively participate in our group sessions. We believe that involving the spouses creates a space for shared understanding, empathy, and stronger support networks.
One of our primary objectives is to raise awareness about prostate cancer within our community. We organised regular support group sessions that are specifically tailored to the needs of the black community. Research has shown that black men are at a higher risk of developing prostate cancer and often face unique challenges in accessing appropriate care and support. By focusing on this community, we strive to bridge the gap and ensure that vital information, resources, and emotional support are readily available.
As an organisation, we are entirely self-funded and rely on the generosity of donations to sustain our operations. Every contribution, no matter how small, makes a significant impact and allows us to continue providing a nurturing space for individuals and their families affected by prostate cancer.
We invite you to join our Prostate Cancer Support Group, where you will find a compassionate community ready to listen, share experiences, and offer guidance. Together, we can create a sense of hope, strength, and resilience while raising awareness and supporting those affected by prostate cancer in our community. Let us walk this journey together, hand in hand, with unwavering support and understanding.

Our support group meetings are held on a regular basis and are facilitated by trained professionals who specialize in prostate cancer care. During these sessions, participants can benefit from educational presentations, guest speakers, and interactive discussions that cover a wide range of topics related to prostate cancer, including treatment options, coping strategies, lifestyle modifications, and emotional well-being.
In addition to our group meetings, CDLIW C.I.C organizes social events, workshops, and educational seminars to further enhance the support network we provide. These activities not only serve as opportunities for personal growth and development but also enable participants to build lasting friendships and connect with others who share similar experiences.
